Bahman Yazdani

Bahman Yazdani is the Associate Director and Associate Research Engineer at the Energy Systems Lab (ESL). For the last ten years he has been in charge of the Laboratory’s legislative responsibilities under The Texas Emissions Reduction Program (TERP) including assisting the state-wide implementation of the Texas Building Energy Performance Standards and providing the impact of the energy efficiency measures and renewable energy projects on emissions reduction for the State of Texas. He has served as the principal investigator for over $30,000,000 in research projects for the United States Department of Energy, and other research projects in the field of energy efficiency and energy management.

Bahman’s area of expertise is in energy efficiency and energy management. He has over 30 years of experience in these fields in both the public and private sector. Bahman has provided engineering services and implemented energy management policies that have saved millions of dollars. He has experience managing multiple large scale facility upgrade programs.

Mr. Yazdani managed the US-DOE Rebuild America Program for Texas for seven years, providing a network of technical and business expertise that helps the state and local governments and businesses cooperate as community partners to save money by cutting energy use in their facilities, creating jobs, promoting growth and protecting the environment.

Bahman received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
