Dr. Ugursal is a Certified Energy Manager and works on various CC® and energy analysis projects at the ESL. Dr. Ugursal has over 15 years of experience in energy analysis and building optimization research projects. He has implemented the ESL’s CC® process in over 60 buildings for the DFW International Airport and the Alamo Colleges District . He has developed new measures for CC® applications. His experience in energy analyses projects include hydronic and electric terminal box energy use, plant hydraulic energy modeling and cost analysis, duct pressure loss calculations and ground-source heat pump analysis. As a part of his doctoral research, Dr. Ugursal developed testing methodologies, conducted human subject tests, and determined optimized thermal comfort for various combinations of airflow, metabolic rate and room temperature conditions. He also developed human geometry for three-dimensional CFD modeling of the thermal environments.
