Texas A&M Industrial Training & Assessment Center (ITAC)
Conducting free assessments for mid-sized industries to help them stay competitive through reduction of costs.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Industrial Training and Assessment Center (ITAC) at Texas A&M University is a team of professional staff and trained students that conducts free assessments for mid-sized industries to help them stay competitive through reduction of costs. The assessments include energy efficiency and productivity improvements, waste minimization, and pollution prevention which has been serving the central and east Texas communities since 1977, completing over 900 assessments.
The Industrial Training and Assessment Center has:
- Conducted no-cost energy audits for over 1,000 industrial clients.
- Provided over 6,500 project energy efficiency recommendations that resulted in over $400 million verified savings for Texas industries.
- Trained over 450 students to conduct industrial energy audits.
- Received the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2017 Center of Excellence Award.
